Social distancing – Day 53

Kauniin kevätpäivän kunniaksi hurautettiin ystävän kanssa suosikki rantsulle sovittelemaan aurinkoa hartioille. Mentiin molemmat omilla autoilla, joka vei retken mukavuudesta palasen, mutta näin toimitaan tänä päivänä. Muutamia retkikuntia oli paikalla ja joku jopa uskaltautui uimaankin. Harjuisessa maastossa reippailun jälkeen nautittiin perinteinen makkaralounas ja vähän herkkuja teekupillisen kera jälkiruoaksi. Ilokseni löydettiin harvinaisia kangasvuokkoja. Siellä olisi voinut loikoilla hiekalla vaikka kuinka kauan!

To celebrate this beautiful spring day went to a picnic with a friend to my favourite beach. This social distancing time required that we both got there by our own cars. It took a part from the fun, but the way to go these days. There we few small groups of people, some even dipped in the lake. Too cold for me. After hiking on these hilly grounds we had the traditional lunch; sausages on camp fire and some goodies with a cup of tea. To my delight we found some very rare Pulsatilla vernal flowers, the plant have been protected ever since 1952. I could have stayed at the beach forever!

I might drive back there in the morning and try to catch the Pulsatilla vernalis opening up.

Saturday Classics – 09052020

Kevät riehaannuttaa, mutta mennään nautiskellen tämä päivä. Päivän teemaan sopivana biisinä on John Denverin ylistys luonnolle vuodelta 1971. ‘Sunshine on My Shoulders’ löytyy ‘Poems, Prayers & Promises’  -albumilta, jolla hän löi itsensä läpi. Melankolinen, mutta hieno biisi. Ja nyt minä lähden asettelemaan aurinkoa olkapäilleni.

Spring can make you restless, but let’s just enjoy this melancholy today. Today we’ll listen John Denver‘s ‘Sunshine on My Shoulders’ from 1971. The song can be found from the ‘Poems, Prayers & Promises’ album. The album that made him famous. Now I’ll go and set the sun on my shoulders.
