Aamulla oli mukava herätä sateen ropinaan ja ukkosen jytkeeseen. Kasvimaa oli saanut osansa vedestä ja kävin vielä kastelemassa sateen perään, jotta varmasti tehoaa. Tunneleiden ja harsojen sisällä kaikki kasvatettavat ovat vielä tällä hetkellä, joten kosteus pysyy maassa hieman paremmin kuin avoviljelyksellä. Tein kastelujärjestelmän kesäkurpitsan taimille, vesiämpäri ja sieltä puuvillanaru maahan. Tämä systeemi on toiminut parvekkeella, niin miksi ei kasvimaallakin. Jätin kasvit sinne kaikkeen rauhaan kasvamaan ja suuntasin juhannuksen viettoon Itä-Suomeen.
It was nice to wake up for a rain and thunder this morning after weeks of drought. The vegetable lot had it’s share of rain and on top of that I watered well, plants will get all they can use now. They are all growing under covers and that helps the moisture stay in the soil a bit longer than open plantation. Decided to make a watering system for zucchinis, a bucket full of water and a cotton string from there to the soil. This system works well at the balcony and I believe it will work for the vegetables. I left the plants to grow in peace and headed to the east of Finland to celebrate the Midsummer weekend.
