Smokie soitteli mukavaa ja kevyttä rockia 1970 luvulla. Päivän biisiksi nousee yhtyeen ensimmäinen hittibiisi ‘If You Think You Know How to Love Me‘. Bändin biiseistä suosikkeja olisi ollut runsaasti, mutta jätetään niitä myöhempiä soittoja odottelemaan. Päivän biisi julkaistiin ensimmäiseksi singlenä ja myöhemmin ‘Changing All the Time‘ -albumilla ja vielä kerran 1979 ‘All Fired Up’ albumilla. Siinä välissä oli laulaja vaihtunut Chris Normanista Alan Bartoniin. Tänään kuunnellaan tuo alkuperäinen ja bonuksena Pat Benatarin versio vuodelta 1979. Biisinikkareina ovat toimineet Nicky Chinn ja Mike Chapman. Chapman on sama kaveri joka tuotti tämän blogin nimisen hittialbumin bändille nimeltä Blondie 🙂
Smokie played easy soft rock at the 1970’s. Today’s song is their first hit single ‘If You Think You Know How to Love Me’. There were quite a few favorites from this band to choose from, but let them wait until later days. Today’s song is from ‘Changing All the Time‘ -album released at 1975. It was rereleased at 1979 when the lead singer was Alan Barton. The original was sung by Chris Norman. Pat Benatar made her version at 1979 as well and as a bonus we’ll hear that one as well. The writers for this song were Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. Chapman is the same guy who produced Blondie‘s Parallel Lines album 🙂
