The spring is a bit late, so let’s take an early start with Donovan‘s beautiful ‘The Lullaby of Spring‘ from 1967. The song is from his first double studio album. ‘A Gift from a Flower Garden‘. Ensimmäiset pilkahdukset kevään lähestymisestä ilmaantuivat tänään Keski-Suomen korkeuksilla. Plus neljään asteeseen noussut lämpötila ja jo hieman lämmittävä aurinko loi iloa talviloman ensimmäiseen päivään. Ja huomenna tiedossa samaa!
The first signs of seing arrived to Central Finland today where I’m spending the spring break. the temperature reached +4 C an the sun felt warm. Beautiful day and more to come tomorrow!

Lumet sulaa ja kevät tulla jolkottaa, ainakin hetkellisesti. Voidaan hyvinkin heittäytyä odottelemaan lämpöä ja aurinkoa The Doorsin tahdissa. ‘Waiting for the Sun‘ ilmestyi vihdoin vuonna 1969 ‘Morrison Hotel‘ albumilla. Alun perin biisi oli tarkoitettu ‘Waiting for the Sun‘ -albumille, mutta viime metreillä se jätettiin pois.
Snow is melting and it smells like an early spring, momentarily. We can enjoy waiting of the sun and warmth with The Doors’ song ‘Waiting for the Sun‘. The song was finally released at 1969 at the ‘Morrison Hotel‘ album. It was written for the ‘Waiting for the Sun‘ album but was left out at the last moment.

Jäätyvää / Freezing
Näyttää talvelta, muutama sentti lunta ja järven pinta jäässä. Petollista harhaa. Olen tässä yrittänyt muistella miltä sininen taivas näyttää talvisäässä. Viimeksi sellaisesta taitaa olla havaintoa helmikuulta. Päivät pidentyvät tästä harmaudesta huolimatta, tänään päivän pituus näillä leveysasteilla on jo 5 tuntia 10 minuuttia. Aurinko nousee 9:54 ja laskee 14:54.
It looks like winter, a few centimeters of snow and lake is getting ice cover. An deceptive illusion. I’ve been trying to remember what the blue sky looks like in the snowy weather, last time sawn in February. Days are getting longer despite of falling skies. Today sun rises at 9:43 and sets 14:54, leaving us 5 hours and 10 minutes of daylight.
