Ensimmäiset pilkahdukset kevään lähestymisestä ilmaantuivat tänään Keski-Suomen korkeuksilla. Plus neljään asteeseen noussut lämpötila ja jo hieman lämmittävä aurinko loi iloa talviloman ensimmäiseen päivään. Ja huomenna tiedossa samaa!

The first signs of seing arrived to Central Finland today where I’m spending the spring break. the temperature reached +4 C an the sun felt warm. Beautiful day and more to come tomorrow!

Mikä on parempaa tekemistä sateisen siivouspäivän piristykseksi kuin retki Taidelaitos Haihatukseen. Tämän vuoden reissusta teki speciaalin kun kaatosateessa kohtasin Realistinen optimisti -blogin Timon ja Tarjan Haihatuksen parkkipaikalla ja siitä siirryimme nopeasti sisätiloihin tämän kesän ‘Avantgardevekkula 2020‘ -kesänäyttelyyn tutustumaan. Kaikista mukavinta oli kuitenkin tavata tämä mukava pariskunta blogin takaa ja vihdoin sympaattinen Tarja. Timon kanssa ensitapaaminen oli joskus vuonna 2009 Vaasassa. 

Värikäs, ellei jopa väri-iloitteleva näyttely oli mielestäni hyvä. Sisältä ja ulkoa löytyi paljon ihmeellisiä ‘ikiliikkujia’, naivistisia teoksia, taidokkaasti kierrätettyjä muovipusseja, leluja ja villalankaa. Puutavarasta ja sulista puhumattakaan. Monipuolinen näyttely oli laajentunut Haihatuksen kellariin, josta löytyi tämän vuoden suosikkeihini noussut Benjamin Nozdrachevin installaatio. Ulkoalueilta löytyi myös uusia alueita kartoitettavaksi ja pienestä metsästä Kaisa Vigmanin teos ‘Voimametsä’ ihastutti suuresti. Lähiaikoina lisää kuvia ja tekstiä tämän kesän Haihatuksen näyttelystä. 

Tästä päivästä oli sosiaalinen eristäytyminen kaukana, toki turvaväleistä huolehdittiin. 

There is nothing better to cheer you up in a rainy day than to visit Art Centre Haihatus. This years trip to Haihatus was special because I met fellow blogger Timo from Realistinen optimisti -blog and his lovely wife Tarja there. We met at the pouring rain and fast moved indoors to enjoy the art. This years colorful art show was good and enjoyable. There were number of art pieces made of recycled materials (as usual). You could see innovative use of plastic bags, wool, toys, wood and feathers. My favourite can be founded from the cellar, an installation by Benjamin Nozdrchevin. And outdoors is a small grove called ‘Power forest’, an other favourite of mine. I’ll post more in a near future about this year’s exhibition. 

Social distancing was far stretched today once again, but we kept safe distance.

Social distancing – Day 97

Hiljaista on toreilla ja turuilla. Lisää helpotuksia ihmisten arkeen on jälleen saatu hallituksen taholta tästä päivästä lukien. Ravintolat voivat olla auki aamukahteen, tosin tarjoilu loppuu jo yhdeltä. Asiakkaita saavat ottaa aiempaa enemmän, peräti 2/3 asiakaspaikoista saa täyttyä. Ruokaravintoloissa buffetpöydistä itse ruoan ottaminen on sallittu. Ravintoloiden on huolehdittava, että etäisyysrajoista pidetään edelleen kiinni. Olisin kyllä mielelläni nähnyt, että palvelukulttuuri olisi kokenut renesanssin ja ravintoloissa ruokatarjoiluun oltaisiin panostettu.

The market place looks still very quiet. Today the government lifted some more of the restrictions. Bars can be open until 2 am, however liquor serving stops at 1 am. At the restaurants buffets are aloud once more and you can collect your own food to a plate. I would rather seen the service culture flourish again. Restaurants will have to take care of the customer seating distances themselves. They are aloud to take customers to 3/4’s of the seating capacity.

Social distancing – Day 96

Kesäpäivän seisaus on tänään, päivä pisimmillään. Täällä meillä se on tänään 19 tuntia ja 18 minuuttia. Upean päivän se meille soi nautittavaksi. Saimaan rannoilla vietettiin ystävän kanssa retkipäivää. Talviturkkikin tuli heitettyä. Ukkojumala sai lahjuksia, jotta suopea olisi tulevan vuoden ja sadosta tulisi hyvä 😉

Today is the summer solstice and the day is at its longest, here where I live its 19 hours and 18 minutes long. Doesn’t get really dark at all. The day was really beautiful, sunny and warm. Spend it with a friend picnicking at the shores of The Great Lake of Saimaa. Went swimming for the first time this summer. And gave some offerings to the ancient Finnish god of weather (thunder) and harvest 😉

Summer 2020 – 2

Päivän urakkana oli pystyttää aita. Ensin tolpat maahan ja siihen virittää rastasverkko, joka saa toimia aitana rusakoita vastaan. Huomaa kuvassa komea portti, se tuli kaupanpäälliseksi tolppien tekijältä. Se tuo luksusta palstaviljelyyn. Nyt on paha hetki, tulin sieltä noin tunti sitten tehtyäni kahdeksan tunnin päivän, kävin suihkussa, söin ja pian pitäisi alkaa venyttelemään että pääsee aamulla sängystä ylös. Ei olisi pitänyt syödä…

Today’s task was to build a fence around the vegetable lot. We need one to keep the brown hares away from the goodies. Notice the grand gate, a friend of mine gave me the poles and the gate came as extra. I put some eight hours work there today and now there is time to do some streching, but I ate first and feel extremely lazy to do anything. May be I should if I like to get up from the bed tomorrow morning…

Social distancing – Day 79

Tänään saatiin hyviä uutisia koronarintamalta, ei yhtään uutta tapausta Suomessa tänään. Voi kun tilanne pysyisi sellaisena. Ja professori Seppo Meri ennustelee ettei toista aaltoa tulisi. Se jää nähtäväksi. Laitoin sen linkiksi tänne, että voidaan syksyllä tehdä tilannekatsausta. Pysytään varovaisina ja jatketaan ahkerasti käsien pesua näistä uutisista huolimatta!

There were no new corona infections in Finland today, a zero day! Let’s hope the situation will stay like this. There is also a professor of infection diseases predicting that the second wave will not come. We shall see. I placed the link to the article here, so we can compare situation in the fall. Keep washing your hands and keep the distances just in case!
