Social distancing – Day 137

Viimeisen lomapäivän kunniaksi käytiin kakkukahvilla Pulsan asemalla. Tuo vuodelta 1869 oleva entinen asema, parinkymmenen kilometrin päässä Lappeenrannasta, on muodostunut paikalliseksi nähtävyydeksi. Tarjolla on herkullisia leivonnaisia, kakkuja ja pientä purtavaa. Tiloissa on myös lahjatavaraliike, ulkona pari lisää ja majoittumaankin tuonne pääsee. Kokoustiloja löytyy myös niitä tarvitseville. Lisää asemasta voit lukea tästä linkistä. Kiva päiväretki paikka.

Tämä on myös viimeinen ‘Social distancing‘ -teeman mukainen päivä, ainakin tässä muodossa. Huomenna työmaa kutsuu ja etätyöt on valtiovallan taholta lopetettu, lisäksi opiskelijat palaavat kouluun viikon kuluttua. Ehkä raportoin silloin kun aiheeseen on jotain raportoitavaa tai viikkoraportti. Totuus on että aika vähän on arkena aikaa päivittäiselle bloggaamiselle. Vaikka sosiaalinen eristäytyminen on nyt lopetettu, niin aioin kuitenkin sitä harrastaa niin paljon kuin mahdollista. 

Today was the last day of summer holidays and went to the Pulsan asema, a cafe located in an old railway station about twenty kilometers away from the city of Lappeenranta. There is also couple interior design sops, bed and breakfast and you can have corporate meetings there. Nice place for a day trip. You can read more about that place from this link.

This is also the last day of ‘Social distancing’ -theme post in this form. The government canceled remote working and we’ll have to go back tomorrow to the office and students will be back in a week. May be I’ll be telling what’s going on in a weekly report. The truth is that it’s hard to find time to do blogging every day after work. I’ll be continuing as much as possible to the social distancing in my life even work begins again.

Social distancing – Day 105

Hurjan myrskyn teki meille! jonkun verran osui Päivön liepeitä tielle matkalla Etelä-Karjalasta Keski-Suomeen. Toisinaan tuuli hieman keinutti autoa ja toisinaan tuulilasinpyyhkimet joutuivat urakoimaan. Puut matalla kaartuivat kauas tuossa kovassa tuulessa ja jokunen oli rysähtänyt poikki. Toivotaan ettei kovin pahaksi heittäydy tuo Päivö edetessään kohti itää.

We got a heavy storm today, called Päivö. I met with some of it’s tails on my way from South-Karelia to Middle Finland this evening. Sometimes the wind rocked the car, sometimes the windshied wipers had to work overtime. Trees were bending quite a bit the whole way from the harsh wind, some even snapped half. I hope this Päivö doesn’t do too much damage on it’s way to east.

Social distancing – Day 100

Sadannen päivän kunniaksi eristäydyin ystävän kesämökin laiturin päähän seurustelemaan palvomaan aurinkoa. Sieltä oli myös hyvä välillä hypätä vilvoittelemaan, tosin järven vesi oli lämpötilaltaan kuin kylpyvettä. Siinä vain kastui. Mukava päivä kaikkinensa. 

I celebrated the 100 th by isolating myself at the end of a friend’s summer house’s dock to enjoy the sun. It was a good place to jump in the lake to get wet, that’s all. The water was so warm that it felt like a bath. It was a nice day.

Social distancing – Day 85

Auringonpaistetta pilveettömältä taivavalta ja lämmintä. Mitä sitä voi ihminen enää pyytää! Kaikki kylvöhommat tulivat tänään valmiiksi ja huomenna on luvassa kesäkurpitsantaimien metsästystä ja viimeiset istutukset. Sellainen olo kuin olisin ollut tosi ahkera. Ehkäpä.

Sun is shining, no clouds and warm weather. What can one ask for more! All seedings are done and tomorrow there will be a shopping trip to a nursery for some zucchini plants. I feel like very diligent person.

Vähiin käy / Running out

Kesäloman viimeinen päivä alkaa hiipua iltaan. Vietin sen rantsulla hieman haikein mielin. Vähissä ovat rantakelit olleet tänä kesänä ja kohta sinne ei taasen jouda. No, eiköhän tämä tästä!

The last day of my summer vacation is fading away. Spend it at the beach in a melancholic mood since there hasn’t been that many warm and sunny days to spend at the beach, and soon there will be no time to relax there at all. Oh well, I’ll manage!
